Crossroads' Thrift Store

Crossroads Thrift Store distributes donated clothing and household goods free of charge to low-income and homeless individuals and families though a refferal system. Churches and social service agencies throughout the Salt Lake Valley write refferals sending people to the store. Crossroads has always felt that very low cost sales can be as big a help to many, as free distributions, so we have striven to keep prices among the lowest in the valley. In 2008 the Thrift Store gave away more than seven times the amount that was sold. The Thrift Store is run primarily by volunteers.

In 2008, there were 5,753 families containing 14,351 people who received free items valued at aproximately $206,000 at the Crossroads Thrift Store's extremely low prices and including new children’s clothing & shoes. The store also sold items at low cost valued at $28,065.

Established in 1966 as one of Crossroads' earliest projects, the Thrift Store it is now housed at the Virginia B. Parmalee Community Center.
