The tyranist's thoughts
Obviously based on Stephen King's story of the same title (you'll find it in Night Shift), this made for TV movie manages to be somewhat frightening and still Kingish. I have to admit that I have not read the story and so cannot judge exactly how true the film was to the book, but I will say that the atmosphere and story content did seem very King-like to me. It is a ghost story, but it is both simpler and more complex than most other ghost stories. Personally I found much of the movie painful to watch since no one believes him when he tries to tell people what it going on. This is one of the hardest things for me to watch simply because I am a believer. How could people just dismiss him? Ah well. I would recommend this to anyone who is a King fan (it is better than a lot of adaptations) but also to those who like interesting ghost stories.
