Volunteered in Jan 1919 and was drafted overseas in the same year.
After many engagements on the Western Front he was wounded at Ypres and sent to hospital in England. He returned to France and saw heavy fighting till the close of the hostilities.
In March 1919 he was accidentally drowned in Belguim,
He was entitled to the 1914-15 Star and General Service and Victory medals.
