The Fiescherhorn 4048 m.

Photo by Freddy. The summit ridge

A nice, exposed snow ridge climb done in two days from the Mönchsjoch Hut. It overlooks the dramatic Eismeer and the Schreckhorn to the Finsteraarhorn.

The climb is rated PD mixed or WS with a section of 55 degrees.

From the Jungfraujoch train station at 3573 meters, it is a short hike to the Monchsjoch Hut, 3627 m., where we stay overnight.

Early in the morning we leave over the Ewigschneefeld to the West ridge, where we climb steep ice to an exposed rock section to the summit. We will down climb the same way we climbed up. It is a very classic route with mostly glacier and snow to the summit.

It takes about 4-5 hrs. up and 3-4 hrs. down.

This is a two day climb. We meet in Grindelwald or at the Jungfraujoch for the climb.
