Itinerary
    This is only a brief itinerary.  For more details, click on the links.


July 3rd - Utah, Wyoming, Colorado

    Left South Jordan, Utah at about 4:00 am.
    Drove through Wyoming and arrived in Denver, Colorado early afternoon.
    Attended a Colorado Rockies baseball game.
    Camped that night at the Chief Hosa Campground in the Mountains east of Denver.

July 4th - Colorado, Kansas, Missouri

    Visited the Denver Colorado LDS Temple.
    Left Denver, Colorado that afternoon.
    Drove through Kansas, stopping in Junction City to see the fireworks.
    Arrived in Kansas City, Missouri late that night.
    Spent the night at the Wyndham Garden Hotel.

July 5th - Missouri

    Spent the day visiting Liberty, Far West and Adam-Ondi-Ahman.
    Camped that night at the Trailside Camper's Inn in Blue Springs, Missouri.

July 6th - Missouri

    Spent the morning visiting the Independence Visitor's Center
    Drove through Missouri and arrived in St. Louis late that afternoon.
    Visited the St. Louis Temple.
    Spent the night at the St. Louis Airport Hilton.

July 7th - Missouri

    Spent the morning arranging to get the car fixed.
    Spent the rest of the day visiting Union Station, the Gateway Arch, the Museum of Westward Expansion and the Mississippi River.
    Spent another night at the Hilton. (free of charge!)

July 8th - Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio

   Spent most of the day waiting for the car to be ready.
    Drove all night through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio.

July 9th - West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington D.C.

   Drove the rest of the night through West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
   Arrived at Brian's niece's (Allison & Shane) in Gaithersburg, Maryland early in the morning.
   Rode the Metro into Washington D.C. and spent the day sightseeing.
   Returned to Allison & Shane's for dinner.
   Drove back to Washington D.C. with Allison & Shane for more sightseeing.
    Spent the night with Allison and Shane.

July 10th - Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and New York

    Visited the Washington, D.C. Temple in Kensington, Maryland.
    Drove through Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey   
    Saw the Statue of Liberty (from the harbor).
    Took a wild drive through Manhattan.
    Spent the night camping at Liberty Harbor R.V. Park.

July 11th - New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts

    Visited the Statue of Liberty
    Drove through New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
    Stopped at Sherwood Island State Park in Connecticut and swam in the Atlantic Ocean.
    Drove on to Brian's brother's (Ron and Jean) in Pelham, Massachusetts.
    Spent the night with Ron & Jean.

July 12th - Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire

    Visited Concord, MA.
    Visited the Boston Temple Site.
    Spent a pleasant evening with Ron & Jean.
    Drove through Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire.
    Arrived late at the Raddison Inn in Lebanon, NH.

July 13th - New Hampshire, Vermont and New York

    Drove through New Hampshire and Vermont.
    Visited Joseph Smith's birthplace in Sharon, VT.
    Drove to Wittingham, VT and visited Brigham Young's birthplace monument.
    Drove to Windsor, NY and spent the night at the Pine Crest Campground.

July 14th - New York, Pennsylvania

    Drove to Oakland (Harmony), Pennsylvania.
    Visited the Aaronic Priesthood Restoration Monument along the Susquehanna River.
    Drove to Fayette, NY and toured the Peter Whitmer Farmhouse.
    Drove on to Palmyra, NY.
    Attented the Hill Cumorah Pageant.
    Spent the night camping at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.

July 15th - New York

    Visited the Sacred Grove.
    Toured the Smith Family White Frame House.
    Toured the Smith Family Log Home.
    Visited the Hill Cumorah.
    Drove to Niagara Falls.
    Visited Niagara Falls State Park.
    Spent the night at the Sheraton Hotel in Buffalo, NY

July 16th - New York, Ohio & Michigan

    Drove to Kirtland, Ohio.
    Visited the Kirtland Temple (RLDS).
    Drove to Cleveland and visited the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
    Drove to Detroit, Michigan.
    Spent the night with friends, Terrell and Becca Sweat & family.

July 17th - Michigan, Indiana and Illinois

    Visited the Detroit, Michigan Temple site.
    Drove through Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.
    Arrived in Chicago late that evening.
    Spent the night at Motel 6.

July 18th - Illinois and Iowa

    Attended Sacrament Meeting in Chicago.
    Visited the Chicago Temple.
    Drove through Illinois and Iowa.
    Stopped at the home of Brian's childhood friend, Steve and Becky Knorrek in Long Grove, Iowa.
    Drove on to Nauvoo, Illinois.
    Spent the night at the White House Inn.

July 19th - Illinois

    Toured various sites in Nauvoo including the temple site and a musical production.
    Spent the night at the Nauvoo Family Motel.

July 20th - Illinois

    Visited Carthage, Illinois and toured Carthage Jail.
    Visited various shops along Nauvoo's Mulholland Street.
    Attended another musical production.
    Spent the night at the Nauvoo Family Motel.

July 21st - Illinois and Nebraska

    Toured Old Nauvoo restored homes and businesses.
    Drove through Illinois and Nebraska.
    Arrived and Brian's missionary friend's home (Dave and Paula Welch) in Omaha, NE.
    Spent the night there.

July 22nd - Nebraska

    Visited Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha.
    Toured the Winter Quarters Visitors' Center.
    Spent the night at Dave and Paula's again.

July 23rd - Nebraska

    Drove through Nebraska.
    Spent the night in Ogallala, Nebraska.

July 24th - Nebraska and Wyoming

    Drove through Nebraska and stopped at Chimney Rock.
    Drove into Wyoming.
    Visited Register Cliff.
    Visited the Guernsey Ruts Site.
    Visited Independence Rock.
    Visited Martin's Cove.
    Had dinner at Grandma's Restaurant.
    Drove to Rawlins, Wyoming and spent the night at the Rawlins Motel.

July 25th - Wyoming and Utah

    Drove through Wyoming and back into Utah.
    Followed the Pioneer Trail to This Is The Place Monument.
    Arrived home about 5:30 pm after 23 days and over 6500 miles on the road.
    Spent the night at HOME!
